Pull on your glitteriest pair of wellies for a day of events all about equality, diversity and inclusion at Slimbridge Wetland Centre.
Taking place during Pride Month on Saturday 14 June 2025, Slimbridge's first Pride in Nature day features a programme of family activities to celebrate Gloucestershire's LGBTQ+ community.
Join an expert ecologist on a gentle, guided 'Queer Ecology' nature walk through the reserve, exploring the wonderfully diverse lifecycles of plants and animals. You'll learn that male trees can turn female, discover that many bird species form same-sex partnerships and begin to see nature from a whole new perspective as you learn how to identify birds, insects and flora.
See if you can find all the colours of the rainbow in the natural world, taking part in a Pride-themed scavenger hunt. Don't forget to pin your colourful finds to the rainbow plate!
There's also drag queen story time in the Slimbridge cinema, live music from local artists in the new Estuary Shoreline garden and craft activities using all the colours of the Pride flags.
All Pride in Nature activities are included in the price of admission. The Queer Ecology walk and drag queen story time events are pre-bookable or available to sign up to on the day.
