If you go down to the forest this July, you can be sure of a sparkling surprise.
The Speech House Hotel in the heart of the Forest of Dean is hosting an epic Champagne picnic on Saturday 26 July 2025.
In partnership with Taittinger, guests can enjoy four glasses of champagne along with a sizzling barbecue, as well as garden games and a live DJ set.
The fun starts at 2pm right up until 6pm and Taittinger experts will be on hand to share their knowledge about the top flight champagnes.
General entry to the picnic costs £70 per person, which includes four glasses of Taittinger Champagne, four food stations, garden games, live DJ sessions, postcards to send to friends, the chance to meet representatives from the house of Taittinger, as well as the chance to win a Magnum of Champagne. There are also exclusive on-the-day Champagne discounts.
If you've got a gang of pals to bring with you, there's the option of a private den for groups of six or alternatively you can
join a den, subject to availability. Den guests receive a VIP goodie bag, a London Essence Spritz on arrival, a bottle of champagne to share in the den, as well as a private masterclass with Taittinger, alongside London Essence tonics to enjoy throughout the day.
The VIP den experience costs £120 per person, based on six sharing.
Picnic guests can also take advantage of 10 per cent off room rates for bed and breakfast at the former 17th-century hunting lodge if they stay the night.
