1. Take in an extraordinary view of Cheltenham


Impress your Valentine with a ride on Cheltenham’s new observation wheel. Standing at 35-meters tall in the town’s Imperial Gardens, the wheel is part of the Light Up Cheltenham event, which will see a number of the town’s landmark buildings lit up in colour.

The three-week festival will even see buildings lit red for Valentine’s Day, so expect spectacular views as you cosy up to your loved one on a 10-minute ride through the skies. And, if you want to make it an extra special day to remember, why not plan a proposal with a difference? The 10-minute ride costs £5 per person.


2. Valentine's Tower Tour at Gloucester Cathedral


Take a romantic trip to the top of Gloucester Cathedral, where you can enjoy breath-taking views for miles across the historic city.

Finished in 1460, the tower is 225 feet high and has 269 steps. Once they’ve made the journey to the top, guests can enjoy a glass of Prosecco, or a non-alcoholic alternative while taking in the stunning views.

Tickets for this experience cost £15 per person, and can be purchased from the Cathedral gift shop.


3. Valentine’s Dinner Delight at Hillside Brewery


Take a trip to Hillside Brewery in the Forest of Dean, for a delicious Valentine’s meal and some incredible local beer in the heart of the English countryside.

The three-course menu includes an antipasti sharing platter, a main of beer-glazed pork belly or honey garlic salmon, and a tasty trio of desserts for couples to share with two spoons.

Costing £35 per couple, this incredible menu is a great way to treat your loved one to something special, without breaking the bank.


4. Watch Titanic at The Wilson art gallery


What could be more romantic than a night with your significant other at an art gallery, enjoying one of the most romantically tragic movies of all time.

The Wilson in Cheltenham will screen Titanic and offer guests entry into The Enduring Eye Exhibition, while they enjoy a beer, wine or a soft drink and a tapas board before settling down in front of the movie. Tickets cost £25 per person.


5. Flex your funny bone at Gloucester Guildhall


If you’re looking for a more unusual way to celebrate Valentine’s this year, why not grab two tickets to catch comedian Stephen K Amos at Gloucester Guildhall during his latest UK tour.

Covering topics like Brexit and Trump with his feel-good style of comedy, it’s the ideal date if a romantic candlelight meal isn’t really your scene. Tickets cost £19.25 per person.


6. Valentine's afternoon tea at Stonehouse Court


Promising the chance to toast your Valentine with a glass of bubbly from Monday 11 to Friday 15 February 2019, Stonehouse Court’s restaurant will be offering up a scrumptious Valentine’s afternoon tea for two – featuring sublime sandwiches, tasty treats and cakes, as well as a glass of fizz for £30 per couple.


7. Indulge in a spa day at Hatherley Manor Hotel and Spa


Relax and unwind in the tranquillity of Gloucester’s Hatherley Manor Spa this Valentine’s Day.

Treat that special someone special to the Spa Date Night package, which includes a 55-minute treatment per person, three-course dinner with a bottle of wine, overnight accommodation and a delicious breakfast the next morning.

During both days, guests have full access to the spa and its facilities, making for a relaxing and indulgent Valentine’s weekend. Prices are from £370 per room per night.


8. Valentine's Night at The Find


Impress your Valentine with a delicious meal at The Find in Cheltenham. Offering a spectacular menu for 2019, the venue is a great option for those looking for somewhere independent and intimate.

The three-course menu features mains such as king prawn and chorizo linguini; rib eye steak; oven-roasted lamb rump; and roasted butternut squash tagine. It also includes a palate cleanser of home-made raspberry and mint sorbet, as well as some heart-shaped shortbread and chocolate truffles to take away and enjoy at home.
