Gloucester Brewery is giving 20 local people the chance to become official beer tasters, testing its brand-new range of canned beers for free.

The lucky beer tasters will be sent free packs of Gloucester Brewery’s new 500ml canned versions of its popular beers, including Gloucester Gold and Dockside Dark, among others.

The brewery plans to move all of its bottled beers to cans from Monday 15 March 2021. Not only will this enhance the beers’ flavour, but improve the brand’s carbon footprint, too.

Jared Brown, managing director of Gloucester Brewery, said: ‘Canned beer is better than bottled beer as it stays fresher longer as cans block out all light and oxygen from getting in. This is particularly important for our beers which are unfiltered, unpasteurised and live, meaning they pour naturally hazy and contain live yeast.

‘It is also easier to transport and safer than glass and it is more environmentally-friendly being lighter in weight and more recyclable than glass.

‘We look forward to hearing what our beer tasters think of the new canned versions of our bottled beers.’

Applicants need to be over the age of 18, with proof of date of birth, and live in the GL1 to GL4, GL50 to GL52 and GL20 postcodes. The chosen few will then be sent a free pack of beers and a feedback form to fill out.

To become a beer taster for Gloucester Brewery, email hugh@gloucesterbrewery.co.uk by no later than Wednesday 31 March 2021.
