Taco Bell has revealed plans to open its first and only restaurant in Gloucestershire.

The American fast food chain submitted a planning application to Gloucester City Council on Tuesday 18 May 2021 which details plans for a Gloucester venue at the former home of Frankie and Benny’s at St Oswalds Retail Park.

And the plans give a glimpse at what Taco Bell has in store for the site, which has been vacant since Frankie and Benny’s closed in 2020 – including creating a new drive-thru which will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The new Taco Bell will also create 60 jobs and hopes to attract passing motorists heading to St Oswalds, which is already home to the likes of McDonald’s, Costa, Subway, B&Q, Homesense and more.

An opening date for Gloucester’s new Taco Bell restaurant has not yet been announced, but it’s likely diners can expect all of its fan favourites including the Quesadilla Cravings Box, burritos, churros as well as its famous fries bell grande and, of course, the traditional crunchy tacos.
