1. Embrace the ‘grandmillennial’ trend

Adding a sense of ‘granny chic’ to your home is a trend that first appeared in 2020 and is becoming more and more popular.

Combining a taste of modern with ‘old-fashioned’ styles to create a relaxing, comforting and nostalgic element in your home, you can achieve a nod to this look by adding one of your grandparent’s needlepoint cushions or a classic tasselled lampshade with some modern art.

2. Pick the Pantone Colour of the Year

Add a splash of colour to your home with an interior trend that has been going for more than two decades – Pantone’s Colour of the Year.

In 2021, it combines Ultimate Grey with Illuminating Yellow, and can simply be achieved in your home by introducing some yellow cushions to your grey sofa or adding a statement yellow wall with grey furnishings.

3. Go ‘cottagecore’

With everything from floral prints to nostalgic pastoral products, ‘cottagecore’ embraces the traditional English countryside style in a simple and aesthetically pleasing way, that’s very Cotswolds chic.

Like many trends, it originally emerged on social media and if you’re looking for inspiration, search #cottagecore Pinterest for a plethora of cosy, vintage inspiration.

4. Jump on the ‘Japandi’ bandwagon

Merging two much-loved styles together, Japanese minimalism and Scandinavian simplicity, this trend is one that has been building in popularity and finds beauty in simple things.

This hybrid Japandi trend combines natural elements and is simple one to add to your home by introducing simple lines, neutral colours and greenery.

5. Choose an ‘earth colour’

A huge colour trend that has stood out in 2021 is the use of ‘earth colours’ in your home, whether that’s a dark green or a deep blue, for a calming effect and welcoming vibe.

Introduce this theme into your Gloucestershire home by painting an accent wall and coordinating accessories to emphasise the earth colour of your choice.

6. Embrace the dried flowers trend

While adding some greenery to your home is still just as fashionable as it has ever been, there is a new floral trend that is taking the interior world by storm. Whether its Pampas grass or just some simple seed heads, dried flowers are dominating the interior world. Easy to maintain and simple to create, the dried flowers trend is aesthetically pleasing and Instagrammable. What’s more, it is easily interchangeable depending on the season – simply add a splash of reds and browns to create an autumnal feel.
