Cheltenham's bus network underwent some of the biggest changes it has ever had in August 2025, with a view to better serving local people and visitors, whatever your reason for travelling.
A few months on from the launch, SoGlos looks at some of the key ways the new network is benefitting passengers – from inter-urban travel, to better serving the suburbs.
More frequent buses between Cheltenham and its suburbs

One of the key benefits of the changes is the improved frequency of services between Cheltenham and its suburbs.
With more buses connecting the town with surrounding communities like Bishops Cleeve, Charlton Kings and Shurdington, passengers can now plan their travel more efficiently around reduced wait times – while the route in Bishop's Cleeve has also been simplified, to make journeys faster.
Faster journeys between Cheltenham and Gloucester
One of the biggest improvements is making journeys faster along inter-urban routes connecting Gloucester and Cheltenham.
A new route for the 10 has reduced journey times on that service; while the 94X – which provides the fastest journey A to B by heading straight down the A40 – combined with the 94, 95 and 96 services, mean there are now eight buses an hour travelling between the two urban centres.
Better connections with Cheltenham Spa Railway Station

Commuters, students and visitors travelling in and out of Cheltenham regularly will now find it easier to make connections, with improved frequency of buses between Cheltenham Spa Railway Station and the town centre.
There's now a D/E every ten minutes during the day and every 30 minutes at night, running between the town centre, the station forecourt and Bishops Cleeve.
New links with community facilities
The new timetables see services extended to reach key community facilities, like the Springbank Community Resource Centre.
There are now buses every 12 minutes in the daytime on the C service, which connects west Cheltenham with the town centre; with the route being extended to stop at the Springbank centre, which provides dental, medical, pharmacy and children's services for local people and also offers community space for hire.
More journeys to and from park and ride sites

The new network includes improved connections from park and ride sites to and from areas of Cheltenham, allowing commuters and visitors to be more flexible with their travel.
Buses run more frequently between Arle Court Park and Ride and west Cheltenham, the railway station, the town centre and Prestbury – with extra early morning and evening journeys to the railway station for onward connections; and between the Racecourse Park and Ride, the town centre and railway station, too.
Better evening timetables to support social activities
It's now easier than ever to catch the bus home after socialising with friends, family or work colleagues in Cheltenham, with more routes being served more frequently into the evenings.
The 10, which connects Gloucester with Cheltenham via Shurdington, now stops every 20 to 30 minutes on Bath Road outside The Exmouth Arms, making it easier to reach the area's vibrant pubs and restaurants from the town centre.
Improved links between University of Gloucestershire campuses

Making it easier for students to collaborate and socialise, there are now better bus connections between the three main University of Gloucestershire campuses in Gloucester and Cheltenham, too.
The 94 and new 95 service now each stop at Park Campus in Cheltenham, Oxstalls Campus and at Market Parade in Gloucester, just across from the new Gloucester City Campus, four times an hour for most of the day.
