Catch a movie at The Sub Rooms
Inviting you to get into the Halloween spirit, The Sub Rooms has a host of spooky movies to keep you going this autumn, including Beetlejuice, Nosferatu and The Nightmare Before Christmas. And Johnny Depp fans have the chance to see Edward Scissor Hands and Sweeney Todd.
If you prefer something a little less creepy — but entertaining all the same — The Merry Wives of Windsor is set to appear on the big screen, too, along with A Star is Born, Macbeth, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Caravaggio.
Join in on panto season fun
Sure to bring some festive magic to Gloucestershire, raising boos, hisses and heaps of laughs from the audience, Sleeping Beauty: The Pantomime of Your Dreams will be running from Friday 19 December 2025 to Sunday 4 January 2026, offering theatregoers 27 opportunities to see the production.
Plus, the venue is hosting two cheeky adults-only performances of its Christmas panto – oh yes it is! While the story remains the same as the family-friendly show, the jokes are for more mature audiences.

Bringing some of the funniest comedians to Stroud, The Sub Rooms offers a barrel full of laughs at its regular comedy nights.
This autumn, laugh yourselves silly when a 20th-anniversary stage adaptation of the award-winning TV show Ideal heads to the venue, starring Johnny Vegas; Geoff Norcott's gloves are off, targeting bad parents, people who eat too much, anyone who wears a dressing gown beyond 9am and more; and explore the uncertain future facing humanity, along with equally pressing matters like the worst word he has ever said in public, the current state of the UK sausage industry, and much more with Taskmaster's Mark Watson.
Eat your way around the world without leaving Stroud at The Sub Rooms
Stave off the chilly weather and embrace global eats this autumn, transporting yourself from Portugal to Sicily and Greece to Cambodia with a selection of tasty pop-ups at The Sub Rooms from September to November 2025.
Founded by Joey Limbrick after a five-year stint at Giffords Circus, Peach & Pudding kicks off the season with authentic mezze's, featuring houmous, tzatziki, halloumi, taramasalata, with flat bread; pork or tofu souvlaki; and optional baklava. The world’s biggest consumer of cod, the venue's Portugal pop-up invites you to tuck in to rich and diverse flavours. Experience fierce spice, richness and depth with the Cambodian pop-up. Share small plates spanning parmigiana, pasta and arancini during the Sicily pop-up. And finally, slurp up ramen, accompanied by bao buns and Korean fried chicken.

Stroud's biggest party is back for 2025, when The Sub Room's iconic Shindig returns to celebrate the town — offering a chance to grab a drink, tuck into street food, let loose and get your groove on.
This year's lineup includes TC & The Groove Family bringing uplifting, cultural celebration through music to the mainstage; along with Thrill Collins with their skiffle-pop festival vibes; plus, local legend and resident Shindig DJ Robbie Duncan brings his unique fusion of jazz, soul, funk and house.
