Gloucestershire is bursting with exciting new openings popping up across the county each month – and December is no different.
As the year draws to an end, it's just the beginning for some businesses, with everything from quirky breweries and historic luxury retailers to sizzling pan-Asian restaurants opening doors.

Mad Dog Brewery Co in Cheltenham
Cheltenham's historic fire station got a new lease of life this Christmas, as Mad Dog Brewery Co took over the venue on Saturday 13 December 2025.
Customers at the new taproom can enjoy its core range of beers, including Kolsch-style lager, Welsh red ale, American pale ale, oatmeal stout and its iconic marmalade IPA. The taproom will also serve freshly prepared food including smoked barbecue meats, lunchtime small plates and Sunday lunches.
Turney Group country store at Bredon
One of the south of England's main dealers of leading UK agricultural brands has landed in Gloucestershire for the first time, with Turney Group opening a new site near Tewkesbury.
Part machinery depot, part country store, customers can shop a wide variety of animal feeds, including dog food from top brands like Skinners, Forthglade and Pedigree; bird and poultry food, from garden seed to chicken pellets; and horse feed and bedding, along with grooming accessories, gifts and more.
Lido Nordic spa experience in Cheltenham
In collaboration with Black Box Saunas, Cheltenham Lido has opened its Nordic Spa Experience for just eight weeks this December 2025 – giving visitors the chance to unwind in the sauna, followed by an invigorating cold plunge.
Including a spell in the sauna followed by a cold plunge, with the Nordic hot-cold-rest cycle helping to support cardiovascular health, reduce inflammation, regulate stress and release feel-good endorphins.
Pritchards in Cheltenham
This month saw the opening of luxury menswear retailer, Pritchards. First established in 1836, the Cheltenham location is the company's second ever store.
Trading in Hereford for nearly 200 years, it has now opened a store at 66-68 Promenade, taking over the former Mint Velvet store, stocking brands including Belstaff, Paul Smith, Gant, Oliver Sweeney and Fred Perry.
You Me & Umami in Lechlade
Explore bold new flavours where East meets West at You Me and Umami, with the launch of the new pan-Asian restaurant in Lechlade.
The menu features dishes influenced by Korean, Japanese and Malay cuisine, including bao, gyoza and noodles – made using locally sourced ingredients where possible.
The Bap Shack at Stroud Five Valleys
Supplying hungry foodies with sandwiches and savoury favourites, The Bap Shack has launched at Five Valleys Shopping Centre.
Part of the family-owned and run company, Halls, the Five Valleys menu features freshly brewed teas and coffees, alongside hot and cold sandwiches, including their famous Halls bacon and sausage baps made with locally sourced meat.
