Just in case you missed some of the hottest new spots, SoGlos rounds up five of the most exciting Gloucestershire openings in September 2025.

GolfQube in Cheltenham

GolfQube, a brand-new indoor golfing destination designed to let players tee off all-year-round – come rain or shine – opened in Cheltenham in September.

Located on Kingsditch Retail Park and powered by the latest technology and shaped by PGA-qualified professionals, swings can be perfected on the TrackMan indoor driving range, world-renowned courses can be taken on in the golf simulator and kit bags can be stocked up with the highest-quality gear at the golf shop – all under one roof.

Penguin Little Book Stop in Gloucester

Celebrating the 90th birthday of the UK's largest publisher, Penguin launched a brand-new community-led project: 90 Little Book Stops – and Gloucester is one of the lucky spots to have received a coveted mini library.

Based in the heart of Tredworth's community, the initiative encourages reading and the chance to foster connections – from children's first read-aloud stories to a new book club recommendation for adults – simply take one and leave one for the next person, at no cost.

HYLL Hotel near Chipping Campden

Often frequented by poet TS Eliot during his visits to the Cotswolds, new hotel HYLL has launched in Charingworth, just outside Chipping Campden, this September.

A restored 17th-century manor house that sits within 60 acres of meadow, woodland and hills, the Grade II-listed main house has been extended to include adjoining former outbuildings. And at the centre of the hotel is a low-key restaurant led by chef Mark Coleman that plans to serve a changing menu sourced from local farms, mills and distilleries.

Happy Cinnamon Bakery in Cheltenham

Expanding from its already successful and well-loved bakery in Nailsworth, Happy Cinnamon Bakery launched on Cheltenham's London Road this month.

The artisan venue offers a range of freshly baked pastries such as flaky croissants and chimney cakes, as well as tasty sourdough bread and warming Clifton Coffee.

The Kings Head in Cirencester

Promising to bring bold flavours, beautiful spaces and a proper pub at the heart of Cirencester once again, The King's Head reopened under new management this September.

Whether you're looking for crafted coffees, boozy brunches or tasty dinners, the brand-new brasserie offers a cosy corner for you to sink into as the leaves change this autumn.
