NUYU Dental & Aesthetics in Cheltenham is challenging the fear-factor of visiting the dentist.
Its new clinic on Winchcombe Street is welcoming patients to experience a sense of peace and calm as well as defying the purse-popping costs of work, too.
SoGlos settles down for a chat with its founder Naiz Khan to discover more about his vision for the practice and the services he offers.
What is your dentistry experience?
I’ve been practising dentistry for over 20 years, after qualifying from the University of Bristol.
I came from a single-parent family and grew up on free school meals, so I understand the value of hard work and making the most of every opportunity.
Dentistry became my way of combining science, artistry and the drive to help people feel confident in their own skin.
Over the years, I’ve invested heavily in advanced training and technology so I can offer my patients world-class care without them having to travel far to find it.
You are a Blue Diamond Invisalign provider – what does that mean and how did you achieve it?
Blue Diamond is Invisalign’s highest recognised tier, achieved only by a small number of providers worldwide. It puts us in the very top cohort of providers globally.
I’ve personally completed over 2,500 Invisalign cases, which is the foundation for that recognition but it’s also about consistently delivering predictable, high-quality results.
In March 2025, I was exclusively invited to join the Top 150 Invisalign Doctors in the world at a special event – a huge honour and a chance to share and learn with some of the most innovative minds in the field.
What is the Invisalign process? How does it work?
Our journey starts with a consultation with one of our clinical care coordinators. They’ll spend time getting to know what patients want to achieve, then take detailed scans and photographs of their teeth.
From there, patients will be introduced to me so I can assess their clinical suitability and, more importantly, personally understand their goals for their smile.
That first consultation is
about creating a personal connection – I want to hear directly from patients about what
matters most, whether that’s aesthetics, function or confidence.
We’ll then show a digital outcome simulation – a 3D visual of what their new smile could look like.
After the consultation, I spend time micro-refining the
individual tooth movements behind the scenes to make sure the final plan
achieves the very best possible outcome. Once that’s ready, patients have a
follow-up appointment to finalise their bespoke design.
When
treatment begins, I personally fit aligners and make sure everything
feels and functions exactly as it should. Each aligner is worn for one week
before moving to the next and patients see me at regular intervals to keep
everything on track.
Throughout, our clinical care coordinator remains the dedicated point of contact – coordinating the journey, checking in and making sure no communication is ever missed.
But it’s me who guides patients clinically from start to finish, ensuring treatment is precise, predictable and truly tailored.

What could a new client expect?
The practice is built around my own experiences in professional settings and appreciating how nerve-racking they can be – sitting in cold waiting rooms with staff who, at times, aren’t the friendliest.
I always felt a spike of anxiety before meeting a professional, whether it was a GP, solicitor or dentist and the experience before even meeting the person I was there to see often made those nerves worse.
At NUYU, I wanted to create something that actively helps relieve that
anxiety and I believe we’ve achieved it.
Instead
of a sterile waiting room, you’re welcomed into a warm, relaxing lounge by our
concierge team, offered a coffee and taken to a private consultation space.
The whole experience is designed to make you feel at ease before you even sit
in a dental chair.
I’ve been a dentist at the forefront of technology for 20 years, alongside my partner Natalia who is equally experienced and we’ve introduced the latest innovations into the practice – with more being rolled out all the time.
Soon,
patients will even be able to chat with our newest 'team member' an AI concierge (her
name’s a secret for now), who will be available 24/7 for appointment scheduling
and information. Of course, nothing replaces a real conversation and our warm,
friendly team always endeavours to answer within five rings.
Our team is larger than a conventional dental practice so we can deliver the highest service levels and keep staff happy and unstressed.
We’re also bringing in new clinicians who are carefully vetted to ensure they’re among the very best in their fields.
What is aftercare like?
At our new practice, NUYU, aftercare is built into everything we do.
Once we’ve achieved your new smile, we want to help you keep it – whether that’s through retainers for Invisalign patients, ongoing hygiene care or regular reviews.
We also offer optional Invisalign aftercare packages that patients can sign up to, making it easier to maintain results without having to think about scheduling or additional costs each time.
If it’s cosmetic or implant work, we have tailored maintenance plans so patients can enjoy the results for years to come. We stay with patients long after treatment is 'finished'.
What would you like to highlight about the experience at NUYU?
It’s about raising the bar. We’ve combined the best technology – AI diagnostics, digital smile design and precision planning – with an environment that makes patients feel looked after from the moment they arrive.
I’ve designed NUYU to be the
practice I wish I could have gone to as a teenager – a place that’s welcoming,
uplifting and delivers incredible results without ever feeling intimidating.
I also feel like the term private dentistry has lost its meaning somewhat in the industry.
We want to put the experience back into private dentistry and let patients feel like they are getting a truly private service in an environment that reflects that.
What we’ve also been careful to do is ensure our prices remain competitive. We carried out detailed price analysis in the local market and aimed to settle on mid-range prices – because premium doesn’t have to mean out of reach.

Why do you love doing what you do?
Because I know first-hand how much a smile can change people's confidence.
Growing up, I didn’t have access to the kind of dentistry I can offer now. That drives me every day – giving people the kind of treatment and experience I would have loved and seeing them walk out happier, more confident and ready to smile without holding back.
What is the price range for this kind of treatment?
Invisalign at NUYU starts from £2,295 for the simplest single-arch corrections, with more complex treatments costing more depending on the case.
We will always price match any Invisalign quote, so our patients can be confident they’re getting exceptional treatment at the best possible value.
We also offer flexible payment plans because I believe world-class dentistry shouldn’t be out of reach. Quality care is an investment but it should be an achievable one.
Looking ahead, what does the future hold for NUYU?
The future for NUYU isn’t just about growing bigger – it’s about creating even better experiences for our patients.
We’re constantly bringing in new
technology and refining our processes to make treatments smoother, faster and
more predictable.
That means more advanced smile simulations, AI-driven support and new ways to make every appointment feel effortless.
It’s about giving patients the confidence they’re not only getting the latest in dental innovation but also being cared for in an environment designed around their comfort and peace of mind.
For
me, the excitement is in knowing that the NUYU experience will keep evolving –
always finding new ways to make dentistry feel less clinical, more human and
something you actually look forward to.
