Owners of vintage wrist and pocket watches can have their timepieces valued by an Antiques Roadshow expert this January 2026, at a special valuation day in Cheltenham.
A respected buyer and seller of vintage watches internationally – and a returning clock and watch specialist on Antiques Roadshow since 2000 – Cotswolds-based expert Ben Wright is inviting people to explore the sale of their watches at a pop-up valuation at Malmaison in Cheltenham on Thursday 22 January 2026.
At the event, owners can meet Ben to discuss their watches and have them valued, before deciding whether the price is right for them to sell.
Ben is looking for interesting pieces to add to his stock, which includes all kinds of wrist watches from leading makers including Patek Phillipe, Rolex, Audemars Piguet and Tudor, to name but a few.
Having cut his teeth as a junior cataloguer of wrist and pocket watches for world-famous auction house Christie's in the 1980s, Ben worked his way up to become head of the clocks and watches department, a role which took him around the world taking sales and meeting clients.
He left Christie's in 2006 to start his own business and 'hasn't looked back', frequently travelling from his home in the Cotswolds to London, across the UK and oversees to transact on everything from £100,000 Rolexes, to £100 gold-plated pocket watches.
Anyone looking to attend the valuation day can either arrange an appointment or simply go along, from 10am till 5pm.
