A lively labrador and her owner from Lydney have made it to the final of the Kennel Club International Agility Festival after claiming victory in the semi-finals.

Remi and her owner Connie Sellers-Lane triumphed in the Large ABC (Anything But Collie) Agility Stakes category, making this the second year they have made it to the finals, with the duo also progressing in the Crufts class of the same category.

Commenting on the win, Connie said: 'Remi won the final last year so it’s amazing to get the chance to defend our title. She was very excited with it being the first day of the festival, but she pulls it out of the bag when it matters.'

A true canine expert, Connie has been training dogs for over 20 years and has even published books on the subject, alongside also launching her own activewear range specifically for dog sports handlers.

The semi-final of the Kennel Club International Agility Festival took place at Rutland Showground in the East Midlands and the finals will happen in December 2025 at the London International Horse Show.

The festival has been running for the past 20 years and attracts dogs from across the UK as well as overseas, allowing them to showcase their agility through pole weaving, jumping and racing through tunnels.

Helen Kerfoot, chief canine officer at the Kennel Club congratulated Remi and Connie and commented on the success of the festival: 'It’s fantastic to see so many talented dogs and owners taking part at the festival, it’s a true showcase of this amazing sport and the strong bonds it builds.'
