Gloucester Library announces its new state-of-the-art building will officially open from Monday 13 October 2025 at 9am.

Relocation plans were approved in September 2022 for the library to move from its current home on Brunswick Road in Gloucester to the University of Gloucestershire's brand-new City Campus premises.

Councillor and cabinet member for libraries at Gloucestershire County Council, Paul Hodgkinson, said: 'I'm absolutely delighted to see this move finally coming to fruition.

'The city campus will completely reinvigorate Kings Square in Gloucester and by providing the library service in the same building as the university there will be a hive of exciting activities all in the same place.

'We really appreciate library users' patience while we move and hope they'll try one of the other nearby Gloucester libraries during the short closure.'

The final day people can visit the old library is Saturday 27 September.
