Star of the newly released The Thursday Murder Club film, Celia Imrie is at Gloucester History Festival this September 2025 — and there's still a chance to get tickets.
The Olivier-award winning actress and author appears on Saturday 13 September 2025, delving into the real-life stories of the women who inspired her new World War II-themed novel, 'Meet Me at Rainbow Corner', alongside researcher and co-author Fidelis Morgan.
Her talk is part of an extensive line-up at this year's Gloucester History Festival at Blackfriars Priory.
Celia's appearance coincides with the launch of the anticipated whodunit film, The Thursday Murder Club, based on the hugely successful book series of the same name by Richard Osman, who features on this year's Cheltenham Literature Festival line-up.
Following a group of unlikely sleuths who have uncovered a murder case and are willing to risk their lives to solve it, Celia plays the character of Joyce and stars alongside other British actors Helen Mirren and Ben Kingsley.
The film arrived on Netflix on Thursday 28 August 2025, with a limited-run on the big screen, too.
Other celebrities appearing at the Gloucester History Festival include Frank Skinner and former Liberal Democrat leader Vince Cable.
And if that's not enough, September sees history being celebrated all over Gloucester, with the return of Gloucester Heritage Open Days, which includes free historical and cultural events taking place across the city including a Beatrix Potter tour and the opportunity to see Gloucester Cathedral at night.
Tickets to see Celia Imrie at Gloucester History Festival can be booked online on the Gloucester History Festival website.
