Raw pet food supplier, Cotswold RAW, has been officially approved by UK Pet Food's world-leading food safety scheme.
UK Pet Food works to improve the nutritional standards and advance the quality and safety of pet food, as well as providing educational resources on pet health and wellbeing.
Its Raw Standard Scheme is the industry leading standard for raw pet food safety and quality, developed in partnership with KIWA – a testing and certification body well-known in the agri-food sector – alongside DEFRA and the FSA.
Providing reassurance for pet owners that foods are of the highest safety and quality, it has given its seal of approval to Cotswold RAW, demonstrating the company's commitment to product quality and safety from farm to bowl.
UK Pet Food CEO, Michael Bellingham, said: 'The certification scheme is based on a comprehensive standard, encompassing all aspects of hygiene and feed safety.
'It applies to the entire process from the selection of raw materials to the finished goods. It’s developed with the objective of ensuring safe products for our pets.'
Cotswold RAW's UK Pet Food-approved range encompasses raw food for dogs and cats, including specialist ranges for puppies, working dogs and senior dogs, as well as raw bones, broth, treats and supplements.
