One of the largest zoological collections in the UK — with over 1,500 animals from 250 different species — and set in 160 acres of beautiful parkland, Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens has been crowned 'Best Zoo in the UK' for the second year running.
Located in Burford, the park offers a wild day out, with the expansive wildlife park being home to exotic animals including Asiatic lions, Chapman’s zebra, southern white rhinos, Egyptian fruit bats, red pandas, meerkats and giant tortoises.
Visitors can even come face to face with the park’s popular giraffes on the elevated walkway next to their enclosure!
Affordability, reviews, the range of species on show and overall zoo popularity were taken into consideration to reveal the best UK zoos for families in a recent nationwide poll.
Reggie Heyworth, managing director of Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens, said: 'To receive this ‘Best zoo in the UK’ accolade two years in a row is amazing. Everybody here is delighted at the news, especially as Outdoor Toys are completely independent and their analysis includes really vital indicators such as visitor reviews and admission prices, which are incredibly important and often overlooked.
'We have always tried to keep our admission prices low and we are proud to be regarded as offering such good value for money, when many attractions have become so expensive.
'We would also like to
thank our visitors who have given us such generous reviews on sites like
TripAdvisor, Google and other social media outlets, they really have made all
the difference to us over the last few years.'
