Forest of Dean located business, Suntory, want to help families learn all about how precious water is and how to protect it for future generations, this summer 2025.

With the exceptionally dry weather the UK has been experiencing in recent months, many rivers and reservoirs have hit very low levels.

According to the Centre for Ecology and Hydrology, this has the potential to impact UK households, farmers and businesses in the future.

To try and counter this, Forest of Dean-based drinks manufacturer, Suntory Beverage and Food, has teamed up with Severn Rivers Trust to host a series of educational, interactive workshops about local water conservation, this summer.

Aimed at households in Gloucestershire, the first event takes place on Monday 4 August 2025, with families learning about the water cycle; the impacts of river pollution; local water problems in Gloucester; and ecosystems and biodiversity linked to water.

Suntory's factory, which manufactures globally-recognised brands such as Ribena and Lucozade, is based in Coleford, close to the River Severn and other water sources.

The events take place near to the banks of the River Severn, to give families real-life demos of river life, includes fun, interactive activities such as bug hunts; water marbling art; and decorating wooden magnets.

Anyone wanting to book on to a Mizuiku Family Workshops should visit the Suntory or Severn Rivers Trust website for more information.
