For early birds who want to apply for a university place sooner, or for those wanting to firm up alternatives before results day, University of Gloucestershire's Clearing service offers help to thousands of students in the run up to the new academic year.

Over 76,000 students are expected to apply for a university place through Clearing in 2025.

According to UCAS, the university admissions service, the number of students seeking university places during Clearing is increasing each year, with a predicted 76,000 undergraduate hopefuls looking for courses in 2025.

Students begin searching for Clearing places online as early as June most years, with campus and facilities, cost and finance and the student experience all being the most desirable priorities for students choosing their top institutions.

This July 2025, University of Gloucestershire, one of the region's leading providers of education and research in the south west, is launching an exclusive VIP Clearing service for students hoping to gain a university place this academic year.

The VIP Clearing service will include early-bird offers; a results day SMS; a call back to skip the clearing day queues; regular clearing information emails; and more.

Students will even be entered into a competition to win a year's free accommodation at the university's Pittville Campus and one of 10 Stagecoach bus passes.

Clearing at University of Gloucestershire is open now and is ideal for students looking for a university place who might be applying for the first time but have missed the UCAS deadline; or, come results day in August, might have missed the conditions of their offer or had a change of heart about the university or course they've applied for. It's also perfect for students who do even better than expected in their results and are wanting to trade up through Clearing.

To apply for a place at University of Gloucestershire through Clearing, students can contact the Clearing Hotline to find out which courses still have places available and then apply with the help of a member of the Clearing team. The team can also offer advice on the UCAS process and guide them through each step.

University of Gloucestershire's Clearing Hotline is open now from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, until October 2025.

On A-level results day, Thursday 14 August 2025, the hotline will be staffed from 8am to 8pm. On Friday 15 August, the hotline will open from 8am to 6pm; from 9am to 5pm on Saturday 16 August; and from 11am to 4pm on Sunday 17 August; with staff on hand from 9am to 5pm from Monday 18 August onwards.
