Cheltenham wine bar The Grape Escape has been recognised as having the best value wine list in Europe by a leading global wine publication.
The wine bar has been revealed as the European winner of the 'best value wine list' category of the World's Best Wine List Awards 2025, created by renowned print and digital magazine The World of Fine Wine.
The regional win sees The Grape Escape go on to compete in the 'best value' category of the global awards, which will be announced on Monday 15 September 2025 in a ceremony at The Savoy in London.
Launched in 2014, the awards are judged by a panel of some of the world’s most respected experts, including masters of wine, master and world champion sommeliers and wine writers, with each submitted list going through an 'intensive' independent judging process.
The awards is described as the first program to acknowledge 'the crucial importance of a good wine selection – regardless of size – in the modern dining experience all round the world'.
Located on Regent Street, wine bar and merchant The Grape Escape offers a weekly changing 'by the glass' list, along with over 200 wines by the bottle; and also hosts regular events and tastings in partnership with leading wine experts and food producers.
Owners Anthony Davies and Zoe Fisher said: 'We are so proud of this award; coming in the year we celebrate our 10th anniversary somehow makes it even more special.
'Offering a changing selection of great wines at great value has been at the core of what we have done for a decade.'
Chairman of the World’s Best Wine Lists Awards and editor of The World of Fine Wine, Neil Beckett, commented ahead of judging for the global awards: 'To be judged the best on their respective continent in one of these categories is a huge achievement for any establishment; and each of the regional category awards winners has every right to be extremely proud of the prestigious titles they have already won'.
