Bar manager at Téatro, Arran Fowler, has also created some Friends-themed cocktails which theatre-goers can enjoy before the show.

As a new musical version of the US sitcom pivots to the UK this summer, Téatro Bar and Restaurant in Cirencester has added new specials and cocktails inspired by iconic foodie moments from Friends to its menu.

Friends! The Musical Parody is now on at the Barn Theatre, making its UK debut ahead of a West End run later in the year – and the theatre's neighbouring restaurant Téatro is celebrating the launch with a fun take on famous food-related gags from the show.

Chef Alex Towler and bar manager Arran Fowler have come up with themed cocktails and two special dishes; one inspired by Ross's 'moist maker' sandwich and another by Rachel's failed attempt at an English trifle.

In the show, Ross's 'moist maker' was a meat sandwich made with thanksgiving leftovers and an extra layer of gravy-soaked bread, famously the subject of his outburst at an unsuspecting co-worker who ate some of it – and threw the rest away.

And Rachel's trifle comes from 'the one where' Ross and Joey discover she's made half a trifle and half a shepherd's pie – with a layer of mince, peas and onions – as two pages of Monica's cookbook are stuck together.

Chef Alex clarified: 'Can I just say that is not actually what we are serving, but our take on these, which, I think you will enjoy.

'Here is a clue, there is no actual mincemeat in our dessert. Arran is also working on some special themed cocktails and there will be no meat in those either.'

Téatro Bar and Restaurant is open Monday to Saturday evenings for pre theatre dining; while Friends! The Musical Parody is on at the Barn Theatre until Saturday 23 August 2025.
