One of the Cotswolds’ most iconic racing pubs, The Hollow Bottom, has reopened its doors this July 2025.
Under the stewardship of chefs Nathan Eades and Liam Goff, the pub’s strong horse racing heritage is once again back at its core.

Situated just 25 minutes from Cheltenham Racecourse and within a few miles of the stables of Nigel and Willy Twiston-Davies and Jonjo and AJ O’Neill Racing, The Hollow Bottom has long been a favourite among racing fans, locals and visitors alike.
The revamped decor proudly showcases racing artefacts from the past – giving a strong sense of place in both the racing community and the Cotswolds.

Guests can expect daily-changing menus with some local favourites, drinks that pay homage to the pub’s heritage, cracking wines and a vibrant warm welcome.
The menu features olives, gherkins, deep fried padron peppers and salt and pepper squid snacks while you wait. There's also sourdough from artisan bakery Otis & Belle.
Starters range from soup of the day, half a pint of prawns, Cacklebean scotch eggs, Caesar salad and cured Cornish mackerel. While an extensive spread of mains feature steak, chicken, fish and chips, bangers and mash, gammon eggs and chips as well as a dish of the day nicknamed 'nap of the day'.

Indulgent desserts are full of rich flavours with options of black treacle and date pudding, Tonka bean crème brulee, affogato and artisan cheeses. There's also a spectacular 70 per cent dark chocolate set cream with extra virgin Cotswold Gold oil, smoked sea salt and vanilla ice cream.
There's a strong sense of ensuring the pub is for the local community with happy hour from 4pm to 6pm every day. The working week is covered with a £20 per person grill night on Mondays, Tuesday is curry night, there's 50 per cent off wine Wednesday and a burger club on Thursdays, too.
Nathan and Liam, who already run two acclaimed pubs – the Michelin recommend Halfway at Kineton and Horse and Groom in Bourton on the Hill that was awarded a coveted Bib Gourmand in 2025 – delight in bringing their passion for honest food and warm hospitality into beloved village pubs.

'We’re incredibly proud to be taking on such an important local institution,' said Nathan. 'The Hollow Bottom is more than just a pub, it’s a huge part of Guiting Power and the local farming and racing community and we’re honoured to carry that legacy forward and give the village their much-loved pub back.'
The kitchen is headed up by Josh Murphy, who has worked in Michelin starred establishments, including Lucknam Park near Bath and Le Champignon Sauvage in Cheltenham.
He is supported by Nathan and Liam’s long standing chef Felipe Escoda, formerly of The Cross at Kenilworth, The Ritz and, more locally, The Wild Rabbit in Kingham.
The pair, alongside operations director Silviu Dinu, have appointed Claudio Liquori as restaurant manager where they all worked together at The Wild Rabbit.
Nathan added: 'We are just very excited to get going and welcome everyone back to ‘The Hollow’ to enjoy its unique atmosphere, outstanding hospitality and rich heritage.
'Our main aim is to put the heart and soul back into this fantastic pub, with daily happy hours, racing and other on the TV, a buzzing garden and high-quality food on the plates.'
