Made by Bob in Cirencester is one of 33 restaurants to have lost its Bib Gourmand recognition in the 2020 edition of The Michelin Guide to Great Britain & Ireland.

Popular with Cirencester locals and discerning foodies from across the Cotswolds since it opened in 2008, Made by Bob has been recognised by the gastronomic bible for its good food at reasonable prices since 2014.

The restaurant and deli in The Corn Hall was launched in 2008 by chef James ‘Bob’ Parkinson and is now run by executive chef Ethan Rodgers, with the previous 2019 edition of the Michelin Guide saying: ‘The name says it all: Bob makes most of the products himself – be it for the informal eatery or the crammed deli; and the rest of the ingredients are organic and locally sourced. It’s open for breakfast, lunch and Sunday brunch, and service is bright and breezy. If you can’t find a seat, they also do takeaway.’

The news is set to come as as further disappointment to Gloucestershire foodies, with Le Champignon Sauvage losing its two Star Michelin status and The Butchers Arms in Eldersfield, on the Gloucestershire-Worcestershire border, losing its one Michelin Star in the 2019 edition. In addition to 5 North Street in Winchcombe, Lords of the Manor Restaurant in Upper Slaughter and The Wild Rabbit in Kingham having also all lost their Michelin Stars in the 2018 edition.

The 2020 Bib Gourmands were revealed on Friday 4 October 2019, earlier than previous years, and there are no longer any Bib Gourmands in Gloucestershire. The 2020 Michelin Stars will be revealed at an event in London on Monday 7 October 2019, before the new guide is published.
