The CheeseWorks has been bringing artisan cheese to Cheltenham for more than 20 years. Now, it's embarking on an exciting new chapter with a wine bar and kitchen opening above its shop this May 2025.

From Thursday 22 May 2025, Upstairs at the CheeseWorks, on Regent Street is opening its doors to serve small plates, wine by the glass and seasonal touches like homemade pickles.

The team says cheese fans can expect 'a relaxed, informal space to enjoy some of the best cheese in the world, local and European wines and a menu that champions seasonal ingredients and handmade accompaniments — including the team’s own pickles and preserves'.

The 25-seat venue has a lunch and dinner menu with a regularly changing selection of toasties, small plates, charcuterie and sharing boards, with wines chosen to pair with British and European cheeses.

There are also desserts in the evening including affogato and tiramisu.

And along with an extensive wine list, local beers and cider are also available.

To celebrate its first season, Upstairs at the CheeseWorks has introduced two evening offers.

The pre-theatre offer, which runs from Wednesday to Saturday evenings, includes three cheeses and a glass of wine for £15 with a valid ticket for that night’s performance at the Everyman Theatre.

And 'Wine Board Wednesdays' every Wednesday evening feature five cheeses and a glass of house wine for just £16.

Upstairs at the CheeseWorks is open for lunch from Tuesday to Sunday from 11am to 4pm. Evening meals are served from Wednesday to Saturday from 5.30pm to 9pm.
