Yogan, Cheltenham’s most recent addition to the Asian dining scene, is adding bao buns to its menu this winter – with a vegetarian option and a limited-edition festive twist on the classic chicken bao, among them.

Served with a choice of four delicious-sounding fillings, Yogan’s bao buns expand its extensive Japanese menu, drawing their inspiration from China, where the light and fluffy steamed buns originate.

The festive bao bun has been specially created to celebrate the restaurant’s first Christmas in Cheltenham. Exclusively available throughout December 2021, the festive bao buns are filled with juicy chicken thigh and traditional Christmas stuffing, accompanied by fresh cranberry sauce.

There are also three other varieties of bao bun available at Yogan, including crispy aromatic duck with cucumber, spring onion and hoi sin sauce; barbeque pulled pork with Japanese coleslaw; and seasonal shredded vegetables in teriyaki sauce for veggies.

Featuring highlights such as the ‘volcano roll’ (deep-fried in tempura batter and drizzled with Yogan’s special spicy sauce), Yogan’s full range of sushi will still also be on offer at the restaurant on Bath Road – alongside an ever-changing list of cocktails… and TikTok favourite, chewy mochi ice cream balls for dessert.
