The top 10 Active Gloucestershire changemakers will have a photography portrait for an exhibition.

Active Gloucestershire is celebrating and recognising individuals who are driving positive change in their community, sector or workplace.

In a community photography project, the team wants to share stories and showcase the variety of ways and diversity of people who are supporting the health and happiness of Gloucestershire residents through physical activity.

If you know someone who is making a positive impact in your community, sector or workplace, Active Gloucestershire wants to hear from you.

The charity is keen to hear about people who are passionate and inspiring others to make a change. The team is a fan of people doing something different or new; someone who is taking action in their job or as a volunteer — no matter how big or small — that is helping people benefit from a more active lifestyle could be a contender.

To make a nomination, complete an online form with details of the name and contact details of the person you are nominating, the paid or voluntary organisation where they work, why you think they should be celebrated as a changemaker with details of how they inspire, connect or enable people in Gloucestershire to improve their lives through physical activity.

Nominations can be for anyone; a community group volunteer, a teacher, a GP or work colleague; young or old, paid or voluntary, sporty or not. The only criteria is that individuals must be inspiring, connecting or enabling people in Gloucestershire to improve their lives through physical activity.

Nominations are open until Monday 19 February 2024.

Once nominations close, Active Gloucestershire will get in touch with all of the changemakers who are nominated to capture their stories and celebrate their contributions on local media channels. A panel of judges at Active Gloucestershire will shortlist the top 10 changemakers who will have a photography portrait.

The photos will be printed and exhibited, alongside their stories, in several local exhibitions across Gloucestershire. These 10 changemakers will also be invited to the annual We Can Move event in May 2024 at Kingsholm Stadium where the photos will be unveiled.
