Celebrating the launch of its latest sport and fitness experience at Cheltenham's Festival Trade Park on Wyman's Lane, The Padel Club is providing free introductory sessions for people looking to pick up the sport and find out what everyone's been talking about.
With around 25 million people playing across the globe — currently dominating Europe and disrupting the UK sports industry — padel is considered the fastest-growing racket game ever.
A hybrid of squash and tennis, it's played in doubles on a smaller court that also utilises the walls.
The courts' compact size makes the sport impactful, competitive and exciting, whilst also remaining inclusive for people of all abilities.
Easing you into the racket-based ball game, the free introduction is coach-led, offering keen beginners a complete summary of the game, including a guide to the shots played and how to play.
Plus, all equipment, including rackets, can be hired or purchased from the on-site shop.
This session sets players up to take on the court with friends as leisurely or as competitively as they like — encouraging everyone, no matter their age or ability, to give padel a try,
And if you fall head over heels for the sociable and strategic game, you can explore coach-led sessions by skill level, designed to suit every player or even tournaments, for those with a keen competitive side.
Cheltenham's new facility includes four indoor panoramic courts, premium seating, lockers, showers and a 10-metre-high roof designed to create the perfect playing experience for players of all levels.
Free introduction bookings can be made easily through the Playtomic mobile app.
Courts cost £26 per hour, off peak; and £38 per hour at peak times.
