The Roost and Cowshed Cottages in the Forest of Dean win the Rose Award from Visit England.
Two luxury getaways in the Forest of Dean have been honoured with a prestigious award from national tourism board Visit England.

The Roost and Cowshed Cottages have both earned the Rose Award — a Recognition of Service Excellence, given to businesses that consistently deliver high standards, creative experiences and exceptional customer service.

The Roost — with its luxury cabins The Nook and the Nest — earned the award for its 'outstanding accommodation and dedication to visitors' comfort', while Cowshed Cottages was recognised for its 'strong reputation for quality stays and memorable getaways.'

The Roost is known for its cosiness and strong sustainability ethos — with both cabins being powered by solar panels and other green energy sources such as rainwater harvesting. Guests are also encouraged to recycle during their stay.

The dog-friendly getaway offers unique features like an outdoor Japanese soak tub and was named in the top 15 of the Sunday Telegraph's best UK cabin getaways.

Cowshed Cottage consists of two charming cottages in Coleford offering beautiful views of the Forest of Dean and the Wye Valley, a private barbecue for sunny days and a range of books and board games for rainier weather.

Owner of the Roost, Lorraine Robinson, said: 'The Forest of Dean is a special place, and these awards show just how much local businesses care about sharing it with visitors.

'It's amazing to celebrate this achievement alongside Cowshed Cottage. Together, we're helping to put the Forest of Dean on the map as a top destination for tourism.'
