Emmerdale's James Moore is remembering his late father this October by taking on a charity challenge at 270 Climbing Park in Gloucester.

Taking fundraising to new heights this October 2025, Emmerdale actor James Moore is taking on a climbing challenge at 270 Climbing Park to memorialise his father and raise money for blood cancer charity, Myeloma UK.

Best-known for his role as Ryan Stocks in the soap, for which he won an National Television Award for Best Newcomer in 2019, James is set to climb the equivalent height of Ben Nevis – a staggering 1,345 metres high – at the climbing centre on Saturday 25 October 2025.

Though his on-screen life is based in the Yorkshire Dales, James originally comes from Cheltenham and is returning to his hometown's adventure park alongside eight teammates, made up of family and friends, who will take turns scaling 270 Climbing's 17-metre climbing wall until they collectively reach the summit of the Scottish mountain.

As well as paying tribute to his late father, Stephen Moore, James is hoping to raise vital funds for Myeloma UK, a charity working to help those diagnosed with myeloma, a blood cancer arising from plasma cells.

James lost his dad to the incurable cancer in 2024, four years after he was diagnosed. And after discovering bouldering while coping with his grief, James is now using his passion to fundraise and raise awareness of myeloma – which currently affects around 33,000 people across the UK – in Gloucestershire and beyond.

Spectators are welcome to cheer on James and his climbing teammates when they attempt the challenge, while those wishing to donate can to do so via JustGiving.
