Set to become a key destination in Europe for climbing, 270 Climbing Park is entering its third phase with the addition of two new climbing walls, including an outdoor one that stands at a mega 18-metres – the tallest in the UK!
The new outdoor wall will be accompanied by a 17-metre indoor climbing wall with world-class bouldering opportunities; all part of the park's £7 million, multi-phase development and a result of five years of planning, design and construction in collaboration with Bulgarian climbing specialists, Dreamwall.
Standing at 18 metres high and 35 metres wide, the new outdoor wall is built to international standards and 'offers a unique outdoor experience for both elite and aspiring climbers'.
Its addition also means 270 Climbing will be capable of hosting training camps, alongside both national and international competitions and events – including the European Military Climbing Championships 2025, where the wall was properly put to the test ahead of its official opening.

The 17-metre indoor roped wall has an eight-metre overhang and routes extending up to 25 metres, with the new centre in the park also featuring the UK's largest auto belay wall, designed for beginners and intermediate climbers, meaning the team at 270 Climbing can cater to all abilities.
CEO of the British Mountaineering Council, Paul Ratcliffe, said: 'With the ever-growing popularity of indoor climbing, walls like 270, with great facilities and a focus on accessibility and fun, will continue to grow the sport and encourage more people to give it a go.'
David Stevens, co-owner of 270 Climbing Park, added: 'This is a huge moment for 270 and for the UK climbing scene. We’ve created a truly world-class destination for climbers of all levels, from beginners to elite athletes.
'There’s nowhere else in the country that combines this scale and variety of climbing and high ropes in one place.'
The new walls will be opening in August 2025, with an official opening date to be confirmed.
