Gloucestershire's new-home offering was significantly bolstered in 2024 after a huge investment by a housing partnership.

Over 700 new homes have been built in Gloucestershire after a £150 million investment from a housing partnership.

Gloucestershire Homes & Communities Partnership have constructed 727 new houses over the past year as part of its investment in the county and now employs over 1,000 Gloucestershire residents.

The partnership offers 'general needs housing, supported accommodation and homes designed for older people or residents with additional needs' and, in total, the organisation manages over 30,000 homes across Gloucestershire.

On top of Gloucestershire's buoyant construction industry, property prices in the county have steadily increased in value over the past few years, with house prices now 13 per cent higher than they were a decade ago.

According to the Office for National Statistics, the average property price in Gloucester is currently £232,000.

Chief executive officer of Two Rivers Housing and co-chair of Gloucestershire Homes and Communities Partnership, Hayley Selway said: 'This year's figures reflect the strength of partnership working across the county.

'By coming together, we've been able to deliver hundreds of new affordable homes and provide stable employment to hundreds of Gloucestershire residents. We're proud of the impact we've made and we know there's more to do.'
