Ellenborough Park, on the outskirts of Cheltenham, is offering a new treatment that's going viral on TikTok, as it launches its new Japanese head spa.
Available from Saturday 24 May 2025, the treatment takes the standard salon hair wash to a whole new level, to promote relaxation and scalp health.
The treatment includes a therapeutic head massage which stimulates key pressure points to encourage blood circulation to the scalp and hair follicles – and is said to promote hair growth and health, reduce sebum production, improve overall scalp health, reduce tension and improve sleep quality.
The five-star Gloucestershire hotel is one of only a handful of locations in the UK offering the Japanese head spa treatment, which has become a viral trend on social media and been called the new self-care obsession.
The spa at Ellenborough Park also offers a variety of more traditional options from manicures and pedicures to massages in its six treatment rooms, as well as a heated outdoor swimming pool, thermal suite, relaxing 'karma' room and spa garden with ice bath, hot tub and sauna.
The indulgent treatment costs £115 for a classic 50-minute Japanese head spa experience, or £145 for a luxury 80-minute session – and is available to book online via Ellenborough Park's website now.
