Earlier this year, WWT Slimbridge Wetland Centre unveiled its brand-new Gloucestershire glamping site, Warblers' Meadow, opening five shepherd’s huts in a quiet corner of its sprawling nature reserve.
Offering a real 'back to nature' escape, Warblers' Meadow gives holidaymakers an affordable way to experience outdoor living without sacrificing comfort.
Each shepherd's hut is well-equipped with its own private bathroom, kitchenette and cosy king beds — and they're deliberately screen-free spaces to help guests unplug, slow down and tune into nature.
Surrounded by wildflowers, reeds and water, the huts sit in a meadow that's alive with wildlife. You'll get to experience Slimbridge's wetland world from a whole new vantage point, waking up to the warblers' singing — with each hut being named after a species of the songbird — and falling asleep as bats swoop overhead.
You might spot foxes, rabbits and deer moving through the undergrowth, see dragonflies darting over your private pond or book a private safari to connect with nature on an even deeper level.
Along with exclusive experiences including guided nature walks and tours of the Scott House Museum, Warblers' Meadow guests can enjoy free entry to Slimbridge Wetland Centre for the duration of their stay.
With over 100 acres of habitats to explore, visitors can meet friendly nene geese, watch pelicans in flight at the Living Wetland Theatre and see Slimbridge's pair of adorable Asian short-clawed otters, as well as five species of flamingo. In the winter, up to 30,000 migratory birds call the site home, too.
Prices to stay at Warblers' Meadow vary depending on the size of the hut and the time of year.
For two-berth huts, prices start at £150 per night weekdays and £175 per night weekends, while four-bed huts cost from £175 per night weekdays and £200 per night weekends.
There's a minimum two-night stay for weekdays and three-night stay for weekends. Due to open water around the huts, Warblers' Meadow is not suitable for families with children under seven.
