Charlotte Karadag, rooms division manager at De Vere Tortworth Court has been awarded a prestigious Acorn Award, celebrating her work in the hospitality industry.

The rooms division manager at the Cotswolds' De Vere Tortworth Court Hotel has been recognised as one of the 'brightest young leaders' of the hospitality industry at The Caterer's Acorn Awards, also known as the sector's 30 under 30.

Previously won by legendary chef and restaurateur, Marco Pierre White, the coveted prize is awarded to celebrate the flair and passion of the most talented individuals in hospitality — now adding the Wotton-under-Edge hotel's Charlotte Karadag to its 1,000-strong list of achievers.

Charlotte took over the rooms division at De Vere Tortworth Court Hotel in September 2024 and was quickly acknowledged for her 'exceptional leadership and operational expertise' when taking home the gong for Front of House Manager of the Year at the Hotel Cateys in the same year.

Building on this success, Charlotte now manages a team of up to 50 staff members, oversees various departments including front office, nights, concierge, guest relations, duty managers and housekeeping, endeavoring for seamless operation across the hotel's 201 bedrooms.

Commenting on her win, Charlotte said: 'I am thrilled to have been recognised for the prestigious Acorn Award, in an industry I am so passionate about.

'I am hugely grateful for the ongoing support from my team and mentors, without whom I wouldn’t be here today. I’m excited for the next chapter in my career and hope to inspire the next generation of rising talent to explore the rewarding opportunities within the hospitality industry.'

General manager at De Vere Tortworth Court, Raphael Herzog, added: 'Charlotte has made a significant impact at De Vere Tortworth Court, consistently demonstrating exceptional leadership and fostering a culture of growth, development and recognition.

'Charlotte is a passionate advocate for promoting hospitality as a career, and we are very proud of her for her well-deserved Acorn Award.'

Having recently completed a £1.3 million refurbishment, the Grade II*-listed De Vere Tortworth Court now boasts bedrooms complete with walk-in showers, luxury Penhaligon's toiletries and smart TVs.
