Whitemead Forest Park in the Forest of Dean is named as one of the best campsites in the UK.

In a new national list published by camping, touring and glamping booking platform, Campsites, two camping sites located in the Forest of Dean have been named among the top 150 most outstanding sites in the UK.

Whitemead Forest Park, which is recognised as being great for families – complete with an indoor heated swimming pool, sauna and steam room, adventure golf and kids' activities – received a score of 4.78 out of five on the Campsite website, with 98 per cent of campers saying they would recommend the site and some even saying that it's 'the best site [they've] stayed at so far'.

A second mention went to Coleford-based Greenacres Campsite, which also has an on-site cafe for takeaways, a shop for essentials and offers modern, heated facilities.

It's also noted as being a good base for Puzzlewood, Clearwell Caves and Go Ape Forest of Dean.

The extensive list of 150 of the best camping, glamping and touring sites in the UK looked at metrics such as facilities, location, awards and customer reviews to compile its top sites for 2025.
