Gloucestershire-based bakery chain, Janes Pantry, has revealed its latest growth plans, which will see a near £300,000 investment, creating its biggest café yet and bringing new jobs to the county.
During the lockdowns of the Covid-19 pandemic, the firm adapted by expanding its home delivery service, but is now rolling out much more ambitious plans – starting with a move into a new-build premises just north of Gloucester.
Located off the A38 at Twigworth, the new site will be home to Janes Pantry’s 11th shop in Gloucestershire – creating a 48-seater café, serving its much-loved food with a modern twist, as well as creating up to 15 new jobs.
Neville Morse, managing director of Janes Pantry, said: ‘We have employed the help of Liz Kingett of Liz Kingett Designs who is designing the interior for us.’
Another Gloucestershire business, Cheltenham law firm Converse Law, made the deal for the new premises happen.
‘We have now returned to pre-Covid turnover. It has been a large hill to climb. We have streamlined and hopefully have come out of the pandemic stronger,’ said Morse.
‘Our future plans are to continue to expand in secondary retail sites rather than city centre locations.
‘We are keen to find a site to do a drive-through Janes Pantry. We have just missed out on two locations, but it will happen.’
David Henson, senior associate at Converse Law, said: ‘One of the most satisfying and rewarding aspects about my job is working closely with clients from different sectors, getting to know them and helping their businesses to grow. And this is a great example – a Gloucestershire business doing very well and expanding into new areas.
‘After a very challenging period, the hospitality and leisure sector definitely appears to have bounced back.
‘There are good deals out there for potential new tenants from the hospitality and leisure sector as landlords look to fill empty properties in and around our towns and cities.’
