Summer Reading Challenge launches in Gloucestershire

Gloucestershire Libraries have once again launched a page-turning Summer Reading Challenge, with the 2020 theme focussed on getting kids to join the Silly Squad!

Providing kids with an absorbing activity this summer holiday, Gloucestershire Libraries have launched its 2020 Summer Reading Challenge.

Each year the event encourages children from across the county to sign up and read six books connected to a specific theme. This year, the theme is the ‘Silly Squad’.

Launching in the county on Monday 13 July 2020, children will be invited to register and record their Summer Reading Challenge journey.

The scheme will run for two months, from mid July until September 2020, when it’s hoped that children will have read six books.

The scheme is completely free, and will be available in all libraries operated by Gloucestershire County Council. Upon completion, children will receive a certificate and a medal to celebrate their achievement.
