This October 2025, Gloucester Cathedral is being transformed into a giant, illuminated poppy field with an immersive light and sound installation – and SoGlos readers have the chance to win two Premium Experience tickets to see it for themselves.
Created by world-renowned projection art gallery, Luxmuralis, 'Poppy Fields' commemorates the first and second world wars by transforming Gloucester Cathedral into a live piece of art through colourful light projections, accompanied by immersive sound including snippets of recorded poetry read by Oscar-winning actor, Eddie Redmayne.
Acting as a tribute to the sacrifices made during World War I and II, the installation invites visitors to explore the true cost of human conflict, but leaves them with an uplifting message of peace and hope.
One lucky SoGlos reader will win two tickets for a Premium Experience at 'Poppy Fields' – including fast-track entry, exclusive access to areas including the Tribune Gallery and Bridge Chapel, providing unrivalled views from high above the Quire and Lady Chapel, plus a glass of fizz or a non-alcoholic drink to round off the evening.
'Poppy Fields' Premium Experiences are available from Saturday 18 October until Saturday 25 October 2025, with entry available at 6.15pm, 7pm or 7.45pm.
