Yakiniku has arrived in Gloucestershire, with popular Japanese-Korean fusion restaurant Nagomi introducing the interactive barbecue dining experience to Cheltenham – and SoGlos readers have the chance to try it for themselves with three friends.
Inspired by Korean barbecue and shaped in Japan from the 1940s onwards, Yakiniku has grown into a global dining experience. Yakiniku literally translates to 'grilled meat' and is all about great food, shared moments and hands-on fun. Diners grill their own bite-sized cuts of meat, seafood and vegetables at the table, using sleek smokeless grills for a relaxed yet immersive experience.
In SoGlos’s latest competition, one lucky winner will enjoy a Yakiniku meal for four at Nagomi, located on Crescent Place in Cheltenham.
The menu showcases a premium selection of ingredients, from beautifully marbled cuts of beef and tender pork to shell-on prawns, all served alongside crisp lettuce wraps and a trio of flavour-packed sauces – classic yakiniku, zesty negi shiyo with lemon and leek, and rich, spicy Korean ssamjang.
Guests can opt for generous sharing platters or build their own experience with individual dishes, choosing from wagyu, ribeye, kalbi, chicken, seafood and fish of the day.
There are plenty of options for vegetarians and vegans, too, including corn ribs, shiitake and enoki mushrooms, padron peppers, sweet potato and hispi cabbage – all prepped and ready to grill and enjoy.
Blending authentic flavours with a sociable, high-energy atmosphere, Nagomi captures the spirit of a traditional Japanese izakaya right in the heart of Cheltenham – with karaoke adding an extra layer of fun for those looking to make a night of it.
