The annual Gloucestershire Cheese Rolling event, due to take place on Monday 25 May 2020 at Cooper’s Hill near Gloucester has been cancelled as people are urged to stay home during the Coronavirus outbreak.

Organisers said it was with ‘great sadness’ that they took the decision to cancel the event, encouraging people to stay safe and follow government advice.

Master of Ceremony Jem Wakeman will roll a single cheese down Cooper’s Hill on the morning of Monday 25 May 2020 to preserve the historic tradition.
