AccXel aims to inspire young people with free 'Careers in Construction' event

AccXel Construction School is hosting a free, hands-on careers day, connecting guests to employers, training providers and real trade experience to help in taking the next steps towards a career in construction, this September 2025.

Explore careers, training and opportunities in one of the region’s most vital industries with AccXel, Business West, Forest of Dean District Council and Forest Economic Partnership.

It's officially back-to-school season and whether you're a jobseeker, student or seasoned professional looking for a career change, individuals from across the county are invited to connect with the local construction industry at the exciting Careers in Construction: Gloucestershire event, this September 2025.

Taking place on Friday 26 September 2025, the free event at the AccXel Construction School in Cinderford is a collaborative effort delivered by Business West, Forest of Dean District Council, Forest Economic Partnership as part of the Local Skills Improvement Plan (LSIP) – ensuring Gloucestershire's workforce has the skills required by local employers.

Highlighting a range of exciting roles available in the growing construction industry, attendees can:

  • Try a trade
  • Watch tool talks and demonstrations from skilled professionals
  • Meet potential employers offering job opportunities and apprenticeships
  • Explore training and courses with Gloucestershire providers
  • Access careers and wellbeing support to help with next steps 

The Careers in Construction: Gloucestershire event is free to attend with no need to book, with refreshments provided throughout the day.
