Cryptocurrency Bitcoin is back in the spotlight and Cheltenham's Nephos Group is hosting a Bitcoin & Beers event to help local businesses prepare for future payments.
Nephos Group, in collaboration with its crypto advisory arm Myna, is inviting local business owners and curious individuals to explore the practical side of digital currency at an event at Formal House in Cheltenham.
The educational evening on Thursday 31 July 2025 from 6pm to 9pm, aims to demystify Bitcoin and help local communities understand what the future of payments could look like.
The informal event is bringing together crypto enthusiasts, entrepreneurs and those looking to learn more about digital finance, over a drink that can be paid for using Bitcoin.
'There’s a lot of hype around crypto but not enough hands-on education,' said Joe David, founder of Nephos Group. 'This event is about cutting through the noise and showing people, especially business owners, that using or accepting Bitcoin isn’t as complicated as it sounds.'
Attendees will explore setting up a digital currency wallet and learn how to invest and pay using Bitcoin.
And local business owners will discover why more businesses are starting to accept Bitcoin and how simple it is to get started. Hobbs House Bakery owner Henry Herbert will be on hand to discuss how he runs Bitcoin payment feasts in Nailsworth.
The event includes a live demonstration where guests can use complimentary Bitcoin (provided by Nephos and Myna) to buy drinks, giving first-hand experience of cryptocurrency in action.
With plenty of time for questions, conversation and casual networking, the evening is designed to encourage open discussion, whether guests are complete beginners or more familiar with the space.
'Our goal is to create an approachable, educational environment,' Joe added. 'Finance is changing fast and we believe local business communities deserve a chance to get ahead of the curve, not be left behind.'
