The upcoming AI roundtable events from HR People Support are part of its 'AI and HR: The New Reality' series.

Business leaders are being given the opportunity to learn how they can avoid the pitfalls of 'shadow AI' – your team using AI tools without your approval or knowledge – and manage AI properly in their businesses, with two insightful roundtable events in Cheltenham.

Led by Cheltenham-based HR consultancy, HR People Support, the roundtable events – aimed at business owners, managers and HR leads – will cover everything from leadership responsibilities, to how other businesses are using AI and how it affects your people and their roles.

What are the AI roundtable events from HR People Support in Cheltenham?

HR People Support has two upcoming AI-focused roundtable events – 'AI at Work: What Every Employer Needs to Know' and 'The People Side of AI: How to Future-Proof Roles, Skills & Culture'.

Part of its 'AI and HR: The New Reality' series, the practical sessions will involve learning and discussion around a range of topics concerning the use of AI in the workplace, giving business leaders the knowledge they need to develop an AI policy that's safe, responsible and fit for the future.

What will be covered at the AI roundtable events from HR People Support in Cheltenham?

'AI at Work: What Every Employer Needs to Know' will explore the growing trend of 'shadow AI' – with the latest research from Microsoft finding that 71 per cent of UK employees have used unapproved consumer AI tools at work.

The session will aim to help owners, directors and operational leads understand what’s happening; what’s expected of them as employers; and what simple steps to take now to stay ahead – looking at where AI is likely already being used in the workplace; the key legal, ethical and reputational risks to consider; the seven core areas an AI policy should cover; and what other local businesses are doing.

They will leave with a clearer view of the risks and responsibilities; a simple framework to take back and use to build their AI policy; and more confidence talking about AI at leadership level.

'The People Side of AI: How to Future-Proof Roles, Skills & Culture' will help owners, HR leads and operational managers understand what their people will need to navigate change, along with how to update their people strategy – exploring how AI is already influencing roles, workloads and skills; the cultural, ethical and emotional risks that can get overlooked; what good planning looks like across L&D, communication and engagement; and examples of how other employers are beginning to adapt their approach.

Attendees will leave with a better idea of how AI links to their workforce and people planning; key questions to ask around roles, skills, support and structure; and practical ideas to take back to their team and plan around.
