When is the Evening with the Swans event at Slimbridge Wetland Centre?

Taking place on selected dates throughout January and February 2026, Slimbridge’s much-loved Evening with the Swans event invites visitors to experience the magic of the wetlands at dusk from the comfort of the heated Peng Observatory.

From this cosy viewpoint, you can watch majestic flocks of swans, geese and ducks glide across the floodlit waters.

What happens at the Evening with the Swans event at Slimbridge Wetland Centre?

Each evening begins at 4.30pm with Buck's Fizz and canapés in the Swan Cafe, before joining Slimbridge's expert wardens at the observatory as they share details of the birds’ incredible journey back to Gloucestershire each winter, from destinations as far away as arctic Russia!

After seeing the swans feed, guests will make their way to Slimbridge’s Kingfisher Kitchen for a delicious two-course meal – with dishes including a traditional coq au vin; Cambodian amok trei, a fish curry with steamed white rice; or beetroot Wellington, with options of dark chocolate fondant; fruit crumble; and lemon posset for dessert.
