Drama is guaranteed from the start with the best players on the planet in action, as the iconic British Open snooker tournament returns to Cheltenham.
The event, which is televised live by ITV, takes place from Monday 22 to Sunday 28 September 2025 at The Centaur at Cheltenham Racecourse – and the field is packed with snooker’s all-time greats and up-and-coming talents.
First staged in 1985, the historic British Open is unique in its structure with no seeded players and an 'FA Cup-style' random draw for each round – leaving plenty of opportunity for the underdogs to spring an upset and potentially knock out a big hitter early on.
The number of frames needed to win increases each round, with the first four rounds best of 7 frames, followed by best-of-9 quarter-finals, best-of-11 semi-finals and a best-of-19 grand final.
The biggest names in world snooker will be vying for the title, including reigning British Open champion Mark Selby; last year's runner up and all-time great John Higgins; current world number one, Judd Trump; new Saudi Masters champion Neil Robertson; and the 2025 World Championship winner Zhao Xintong, to name just a few.
There are a range of tickets available for the open, starting at £18 per session or £30 per day for the first four founds, increasing in price for the quarters, semis and final.
Event passes, giving you access to every round of the tournament, are available for £230. There are also concession tickets available for the first four rounds.
