Face painting, inflatables, dog agility and more – beyond the equestrian action at the 2025 Hartpury Horse Trials

The Hartpury Horse Trials is a fantastic day out for the whole family.

Known for its world-class equestrian action, the NAF Five Star International Hartpury Horse Trials is also the ideal summer outing for families – jam-packed with exciting activities for children.

Held at Hartpury University and Hartpury College once again, the event features the British Eventing Championships and is free to enter from Tuesday 5 until Friday 8 August 2025. Better still, children under the age of 12 go free every day when accompanied by a paying adult, making it perfect for family fun during the school holidays – without breaking the bank!

While all the horsey action takes place on the courses, there's a buzzing Family Fun Zone on Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 August where little ones can:

  • Bounce on the inflatables
  • Get their face painted
  • Show off their dog's agility skills
  • Cheer on Hobby horse races
  • Go on mini lander adventures
  • Get competitive in sports activities
  • Feast on foodie treats

Early bird weekend tickets cost £40, including parking, or £20 per adult, per day, rising to £25 after Sunday 27 July 2025.

Plus, for those wanting something a little more special, there's a VIP area located at Hartpury House, with admission, drinks, lunch and an event programme all included in VIP tickets priced at £135 per person.

There's plenty for grown-ups to enjoy too, including a retail area full of top equestrian brands to browse, alongside lifestyle stalls, artisan gifts and more.
