Switching on the Christmas lights in the city, Gloucester’s annual lantern parade returns on Saturday 19 November 2022.
This year's charming theme is Alice in Wonderland, with all of the lanterns in the procession being decorated by children from local primary schools with some of the book's most iconic characters, including the Mad Hatter, the Cheshire Cat, the Queen of Hearts and the White Rabbit.
Organised by Gloucester City Council as part of the Bright Nights programme, this year will also feature the local samba band Ola Samba and Gloucester Gladiators Scout Band, bringing fun, upbeat vibes to the event.
The procession starts on the Kimbrose Way triangle at 4.45pm, passing through the city centre and ending at Gloucester Cathedral, where the twinkling lights will be switched on overhead - with a carol service being held, too.
It's free to attend - just remember to wrap up warm!
