Prepare for a squishy, smelly and slimy summer — the Disgusting Sandwich interactive family trail lands at Painswick Rococo Garden this July 2025.
Running from Saturday 5 July until Monday 8 September 2025, the brilliantly bonkers trail is inspired by Gareth Edwards' much-loved children's book, The Disgusting Sandwich, and invites families to step into the story to help Badger collect all the weird and wacky ingredients to build his own Disgusting Sandwich!
Set within the enchanting 18th-century Rococo Garden, children can follow the winding paths, explore hidden follies and dive into wildflower meadows and shady woodlands in search of slimy, smelly and downright silly items on Badger's list — it's a great way to burn off energy, spark imaginations and have fun in nature.
Come rain or shine, there's something for everyone, such as uncovering quirky Georgian architecture, tackling the garden's twisty maze or simply unwinding by a peaceful pond.
And once the trail is complete, efforts can be rewarded at the Rococo Garden cafe, serving up delicious homemade cakes, light lunches and fresh coffee — no slugs included!
There's no need to book in advance and with free parking, plenty of space to explore and dog-friendly paths, it's an ideal summer escape.
The trail is included in the general admission price into Painswick Rococo Garden, with child tickets costing £6.30; £13.50 for adults; and £34.75 for families of two adults and up to four children.
