Cirencester's magical pop-up restaurant in the park, Josser, has big plans this autumn.
After a summer of feasting, 'Josser 2.0' launches this August 2026, making the transition to 'big plates restaurant' and introducing an a la carte menu for the first time.
It's also opening up the restaurant and bar to walk-ins for the first time, too, so diners will no longer have to pre-book for set feasting menus, and instead can swing by for a drink at the bar or a meal in the restaurant.
Josser's new a la carte menu
The roaming restaurant is offering a selection of starters, main courses, and desserts to give diners more choice and the option to decide how much – or how much more – they want to enjoy.
Reassuring diners that Josser's generous portion sizes won't be changing, nor will the creativity of the food, founder and chef Ols Halas – aka The Circus Chef – will continue to bring his signature flair to the new a la carte menu with inventive flavour combinations and theatrical live fire cooking.

Ols said: 'Over the past two years we’ve been hosting set five-course feasts for up to 50 people in our beautiful awning. These have been themed menus inspired by our travels, each with a story of their own, rounding out the weekends with epic Sunday roasts done a little differently, while honouring the UK tradition – after all, it’s the Josser way to add some extra magic!
'We feel ready to open Josser up to everyone with a brand-new a la carte menu designed for all and we know you’re going to love it. It's now time for change and to evolve this dream of ours as our family grows and we’ve planted roots where we grew up in Cirencester.'
Josser's famous five-course feasts will still be available as an option, ideal for curious diners who want to try a little of everything.
And there are improvements to make the Josser experience more comfortable as temperatures start to drop during the winter, too.
Ols continued: 'We’re also gearing up for the cooler months, so we’ll be making some improvements to the roaming restaurant.
'The tent will be insulated with flooring as well as heating. We’ll create a warm, cosy space, keeping its unique, fun feel while offering something for everyone'.

Sunday lunch at Josser
Sunday lunches are staying firmly on the menu as Josser adjusts its offering, but instead of just one sitting at 1pm, diners will now be able to choose the time of their booking.
Describing its offering as 'not your average roast', Josser's Sunday menu features locally sourced pork, lamb, beef, or chicken cooked in a variety of inventive ways.
From fire pit beef rump, brisket and bone marrow, or pork belly and crispy pork knuckle, to stuffed roast chicken with crispy skin and gremolata, or roast leg and braised shoulder of lamb, its Sunday roasts blend the traditional and the unconventional – and all come with a circus of side dishes from Yorkshire puddings and roast potatoes, to cauliflower cheese and sumptuous seasonal vegetables.
Vegetarians aren't left out of Josser's menu either, with main dish options spanning the likes of fired heirloom cauliflower, charred squash, crispy eggplant, and celeriac schnitzel.
Josser's Sunday lunch costs £45 per adult and £25 per child aged five to 15, with free food for under fours.
Brunch at Josser
Josser will now be serving brunch from The J Kiosk, also located in St Michael's Park, alongside its sourdough revolution toasties, local soft drinks and excellent coffee, with the kiosk open from 10am until 4pm Wednesday to Sunday.

With a semi-secret location in St Michael's Park, the travelling restaurant is housed inside a 36-tonne wag 'n' drag lorry which Ols and Amber lovingly transformed themselves, earning Josser a place on George Clarke's Amazing Spaces.
The menu, and service, are inspired by Ols and Amber's years of travelling the world with the circus, with its five-course themed feasting menus having transported Gloucestershire diners to Bali, Cornwall, Thailand, South America and more.
The new a la carte menu makes this magical restaurant and its fantastic food accessible to even more people, so more of the county's foodies can experience one of the Cotswolds' most unique dining experiences.
