Whether you’re dining on-the-go, heading for a picnic or eating al-desko, give your lunch the attention it deserves.

Swap your average meal deal for a tasty treat from one of Cheltenham’s top sandwich spots, rounded up by SoGlos.

1. Brew & Bake

Independent Bath Road café, Brew & Bake, makes a decent choice for those in need of a lunchtime sandwich fix – using Hobbs House bread, chutneys from Stroud’s Kitchen Garden, and meat from Bath Road Butchers.

2. O'Hara's Coffee House

O’Hara’s Coffee House is tucked away just off Cheltenham High Street and offers sandwiches freshly made to order. Filling options include brie, bacon and cranberry; roast beef; and prawn mayo. Or opt for a toasted panini, like the Mediterranean melt with halloumi, peppers and sun-blushed tomatoes.

3. The Meadow Café

As well as it’s picturesque location, perfect for an alfresco lunch, The Meadow Café’s impressive bagels are well worth the walk over to Old Bath Road. Choose from a classic New York style pastrami and swiss cheese with pickles and mustard; or go for its signature bagel The Meadow, with butternut squash, avocado, beetroot, spinach and tomato chutney. It also offers gluten free bagels and vegan options. Or if you’re pressed for time, sister venue The Urban Meadow on Rodney Road has your bagel fix covered from Wedesday to Sunday.

4. Number 85 Coffee and Kitchen

Located a short walk from town on Hewlett Road, Number 85 Coffee and Kitchen is a family-run café serving a range of baguettes, sandwiches, and wraps with an ever-changing selection of specials to choose from, like the delicious sounding pulled pork and sweet chilli apple sauce sandwich.

5. Farmhouse Deli

For a traditional, tasty sandwich, the Farmhouse Deli on Cheltenham’s High Street offers a delicious selection including a variety of cheeses; roast turkey; roast beef or its famous pork, stuffing and crackling combo. You can even try a Yorkshire pudding wrap, with roast meat, stuffing and gravy all rolled up in a giant Yorkshire pud!

6. Chaplais Kitchen

Montpellier’s Chaplais Kitchen serves up a selection of sandwiches and baguettes where the bread and the fillings are all homemade. Options include blue cheese and bacon with salad; Parma ham and cheese; and roast chicken and avocado, while veggies can enjoy goat’s cheese and pesto; buffalo mozzarella and sun-dried tomatoes; or roasted red pepper and houmous.

7. Falafeleat Pop Up Kitchen

For a middle-eastern inspired lunch, Falafeleat Pop Up Kitchen serves up hot, fresh falafel from a cart just outside Regent Arcade on Cheltenham High Street (unless there’s extreme weather). Order the accessorised pitta, stuffed to the top with award-winning falafel, salad, baba ganoush, yoghurt and harissa, just don’t forget to grab a serviette or two!
